Most moisturizers are full of water. The active ingredients make up a small percentage of the formula; the rest consists of fillers, emulsifiers, and synthetic preservatives to hold it all together long enough to sit on a shelf. You pay for the branding. The water is cheap.
The SD-05 Face Balm works differently. It's an anhydrous formula, which means there's no water to dilute the actives, no need for synthetic preservatives to stabilize them, and nothing added that isn't earning its place in the jar.

WHY IT MATTERS
Sea Buckthorn is one of the most nutrient-dense skin oils. It's also what gives the balm its characteristic warm colour.
Bakuchi Oil (Psoralea Corylifolia) is the natural alternative to retinol. It promotes cell turnover, fades post-acne scarring and hyperpigmentation, and firms skin over time, without the peeling, photosensitivity, and irritation that prescription retinoids cause. If your skin has old acne marks or uneven texture, this is the ingredient working on it.
Calendula and St. John's Wort are two of the most-studied anti-inflammatory botanicals. Together, they calm active redness, reduce shaving irritation, and support your skin's healing process. Practically: fewer red patches, faster recovery from breakouts.
Jojoba Seed Oil has a molecular structure that closely mimics your skin's natural sebum, which means it absorbs without clogging pores and helps regulate your skin's oil production over time rather than just sitting on top of it.
Camellia Oleifera (Green Tea Seed Oil) is extremely lightweight with a high oleic acid content. It penetrates deeply, carries the other actives with it, and doesn't leave a greasy feel.
Beeswax forms a natural protective layer on the skin's surface that locks in moisture and shields against environmental damage without blocking your pores. It also gives the balm its texture, dense enough to protect, light enough not to feel heavy.
Lecithin (Sunflower) acts as a natural penetration enhancer, helping the other actives move deeper into the skin layers where they can actually do their work.
